I had envisioned these as thicker socks. They appear to be a nylon poly blend and some white shows through the pattern when wearing. Nothing soft and cottony about these. They do feel fairly sturdy, not overly thin. Overall they're okay, but not for the price. Also, just an fyi, I ordered these on March 31st and they arrived July 9th, more than three months later. That's a very long time.
